[NKOTBSB] Inevitable

MONTREAL - Bell Centre had never seem so many security guards as it did today afternoon during the New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys (NKOTBSB) press conference.

While groups of girls were already waiting in line, Joey McIntyre, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and Danny Wood arrived to talk to the media, while the other members of both  groups were chilling at the backstage.

First of all, they expressed all the pleasure they feel from being able to present their concert in Montreal.

"I think this is the best city to do a show," said Howie Dorough. "To the Backstreet Boys, Montreal is a special place because Quebec was the first one to embrace us and helpped us to spread our music in Canada and North America. "

Contrary to rumors, the two groups have never been rivals, which explains why they can share the stage today.

"We are two groups who were fortunate to know several huge success," said Nick Carter. "We feed each other and the crowd also provides us with an incredible energy. This is insane! "

Even if the Backstreet Boys arrived when New Kids were already in full glory, it does not create baffles them.

"They have somehow picked up the torch," said Danny Wood. "Their videos and their songs were very good, they did things a little on our way and maybe even better than we do. I thought they were great and I was very proud to say that we had surely influenced. "

The comparison between the two boys band was inevitable, and they used it. "Our fans were perhaps a little protective at first, but we must admit that there are similarities between the two groups," said Joey. "We had a little ahead of themselves, but must admit they do a good job and they have talent. "

NKOTBSB IDEA

Having in mind all the similarities between their music, behavior and fans, a meeting of the two groups was inevitable. The construction of the show was also made easy.

"We have songs that marry well, others that can be sung by all," said Howie. "There are also songs that are very special. We wanted to share the stage, making all numbers, but also things individually. "

The process to choose the songs that make up this show, which will return to the Bell Centre on August 7, was simple and democratic.

"We first looked at the number of successes in each group, choose the songs we wanted to do, then everything fell into place. We know the songs fromeach other. We even find ourselves singing some of them in the morning when we wake up, or while we're under the stage ... In fact, the real show is going under the stage."

And what do they think about their fans that grew up with them? "It's great," Joey exclaimed. "It's nice to see that they are planning their coming to our show as a girl's night. There are small groups of friends, well dressed, attractive and mature. It's beautiful to see. "

As the only guy that remains single, Danny Wood, doesn't miss an opportunity to praise Quebeckers.

"Montreal has the most beautiful girls in the world. I am the only single guy in the group and I live in Miami where there is a choice. When I'm here, I feel dizzy as there are beautiful girls. "
