[Backstreet Boys] Backstreet Boys Are Back In The Studio, Alright!

Brothers, sisters, everybody sing: Backstreet’s back! This morning on Good Morning America, the OG boybanders Backstreet Boys shared the good that they are back to work on a new album, their first with all five original members since 2005. With a hand from Mary J. Blige and Train producer Martin Terefe, they hope to have the album set for release by the band’s 20th anniversary next spring. And before then, they will play their first of surely many comeback shows on GMA this August 31st. Alright!

“It’s like never before,” said Brian Littrell, via satellite from their new studio in London, of being back together with all the Boys. “It’s revitalized and we’re having so much fun.” Littrell, A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, and Nick Carter have spent the last few years touring off old fumes with fellow 90′s boy band (although, at this point, “grown-man band” might be more accurate) New Kids on the Block. (There was also a cruise and a little paying of dues to the pop gods that currently-be.) Kevin Richardson has only just recently rejoined the band, and they sounded no worse for the time apart when they previewed the Backstreet Boys reunited, giving “I Want It That Way” an a capella go. The boy band offerings are a plenty these days, but BSB have that old school cred and, of course, the chemistry and talent to make this second round a special one. Here’s to big things for them in their twentieth year!
