[Random] Let's Talk About "Show 'Em (What You're Made Of)"

Welovers, you that have been following us for the past 3 years know that we almost never post our personal point of view about a lot of things that we post, mainly cause they're just articles that we share, so we save our point of view for ourselves and those who like to chat with us, but since yesterday with the Backstreet Boys new video being out I've been reading tons of things, some are pretty great and people, fans in general and press seems to be enjoying it, but other simply don't get the meaning and keep talking shit so i just felt like write a little, maybe some of you will agree and other will just ignore.

We know the boys are older, so are we, so what? They didn't made that video and stand there shirtless to draw attention. They didn't picked a black background with no dances or effects because they're running our of money. It's none like that, at least that's not how I see it. So let me put it in the way I think it is.

First we all know this song was inspired by BSB babies, their kids and their precious lives. As Kevin Richardson said yesterday on Facebook: "The inspiration for AJ and I writing this song was our children. The innocence and wonder in their eyes is so precious. I want them to keep it forever and I want to rediscover it within myself. No limits … No fear." So why hide all these pure feelings into a big fancy high tech video? Not a match. Being in black in a black background let the song shine on it's own, that song was the real start in that video. It made us stop looking for the big things and really pay attention to the song's lyrics and how powerful and emotional it is.

Being shirtless, for me, wasn't about wanting to show their bodies to catch attention (not that we are complaining, not at all), as I've been reading, if we take our time we'll see that only Brian and AJ had their shirts off. AJ's body is a story to tell with all those tattoos. They all have meanings (I suppose) so to be shirtless was a way to show us his story in graphics. And if we really pay attention we'll see that the only part of his body we really saw was his chest with the most important tattoo he has: the one he got done for Ava, the one he touches on the video and it's not purposeless. Brian on the other hand caught everyone by surprise not only because he's looking pretty dam fine (and hot) but it' pretty rare to see him shirtless because of his scars. And that's the point. What is Brian made of? He's made of his struggle to fight and win his battles against his heart and health problems, so to be that open and show us his scars was a way to show us what he is and why he is that way.

I may be wrong and writing a lot of bull but that's what I think and I do think that only us, fans, will get those kind of things while people out there we'll keep writing about their abs and hair and black background randomly. So don't get ma with them, they simply are oblivious to the inner beauty of the video and our boys.

xoxo
