The Backstreet Boys have love for everyone and they’re proving that in their brand new music video for “In a World Like This.”
In it, the “boys” — Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson, and Howie Dorough — sing their hearts out while standing out on a beautiful outlook, while epic moments in history play out on a TV screen in a home.
First, a couple watch the 1969 moon landing, then another man and woman hold each other as the horrors of September 11 play out on the news. In the final scene, a gray-haired woman cries as she watches coverage of the legalization of same-sex marriage … and then she clutches the hand of her female partner.
As for the message, A.J. told Good Morning America on Thursday morning after the video’s premiere: ”The concept of the video is based on the song, which tells a story of how love conquers all and ‘in a world like this’ that we live in, with all the craziness and negative energy that can go around, with real love you can overcome anything … Marriage equality is an ongoing issue for years. BSB wants to show our support for the LGBT community and we believe that two people of the same sex should have the right to get married.”
