When Nick Carter married Lauren Kitt over the weekend, his fellow Backstreet Boys were there to support him.
A.J. McLean says the Santa Barbara wedding on Saturday was "beautiful, rustic" and "very small."
"It was bittersweet," McLean tells PEOPLE. "We're so, so proud of him. He's been through hell and back as we all have, once in our life here or there."
"And you know, we're all family. We're all brothers," he says. "To see our little baby brother finally make that big, big final step. Next step is having kids. Obviously they just got married, so obviously take your time."
"Enjoy your time together first," Brian Littrell adds.
As for his own child, McLean is grateful that he was able to see his 1-year-old daughter, Ava Jaymes, hit a major milestone.
"I was fortunately off from tour and got to watch her take her first steps," he says. "That was life changing for me."
